Solution to high temperature heat hazard in coal mine

Solution to thermal hazard in underground mine

With the increase of the mining depth of coal mines in the coal industry, the underground thermal hazard has become more and more serious, becoming one of the important hazards affecting the health of underground operators. At present, most mines are still using traditional cooling methods such as underground ventilation, roadway insulation, heading face spray, but the cooling effect has not been significantly improved.

The R&D team of Kcalin Company has developed an integral mobile underground thermal hazard air conditioning unit specifically for this problem. The unit is compact and convenient to move with the driving face; Seismic design, convenient for underground road transportation; Integral design, the supply and return air are connected with hoses, which can be moved by non-professional personnel. It solves the industrial problems of pressure conversion, inconvenient movement, high pipeline laying cost and high cooling energy consumption of centralized cooling system.

With the progress of science and technology, mining technology is also updating year by year. In order to meet the increasing resource demand of the society, the mining of the mine is becoming deeper and deeper, and one of the following problems is the heat damage of the mine. According to the investigation, there are many heat sources in the underground, including surrounding rock, underground water and gas, heat generated by human metabolism and oxidation reaction. Underground heat source is very harmful. Specifically, underground high temperature heat damage includes the following three aspects.

1、 Impact on mine climate conditions. Air temperature is not the only factor that affects the mine climate conditions, and air humidity and wind speed will also affect it to a large extent. Therefore, the relevant safety rules and regulations strictly stipulate that the air temperature at the underground operation points of metal mines must be kept at> Below 26 ℃, the relative humidity must be kept at about 90%, so as not to affect the health and safety of underground workers.

2、 Harm to human body. The underground temperature is generally above 30 ℃ and the relative humidity is above 80%, which forms a high temperature and high humidity environment. In this environment, if workers work for a long time, they are not only prone to heat collapse, heatstroke and other conditions, but also due to the rise of skin temperature and body temperature, there are obstacles in temperature regulation, salt and water metabolism disorders, affecting human functions.

3、 Impact on labor efficiency and safety. The research shows that under the premise of the same number of workers, the labor efficiency will be reduced by about 30% for every 1 ℃ rise in the underground temperature. This is because when the temperature is high, people's central nervous system is easy to be out of order, resulting in fatigue or general weakness, which not only affects work efficiency, but also causes various accidents. According to statistics, working efficiency in high-temperature mines is often very low, and the relative labor efficiency of some mines is even less than 30%.

4、 Impact on electromechanical equipment. Relevant statistics show that the failure rate of electromechanical equipment will double with each degree of increase in ambient temperature.

Current situation of treatment of high temperature heat damage in coal mine

1、 Increase underground ventilation. For example, reducing the ventilation resistance, preventing air leakage, changing the working characteristics of the main fan, improving the capacity of the fan, strengthening the ventilation management, etc., the applicable conditions are limited, and most of the underground heat hazards cannot be solved.

2、 Individual protection, such as the ice vest in South Africa, can get arthritis in a few months.

3、 Centralized cooling, large investment, difficult construction, high cost, poor flexibility, and small scope of application.
